Citypress secures Keolis transport brief
- Wednesday 08 May, 2013
Keolis, one of Europe’s largest public transport operators, has selected Citypress to manage its UK public relations brief.
Majority-owned by French state rail operator SNCF, Keolis operates four rail franchises under joint venture agreements in the UK, including South Eastern, covering the domestic High Speed 1 rail link from Kent to London, London Midland and TransPennine Express.
The company is also part of a consortium which runs Nottingham’s award winning tram system, NET.
Our team will be providing media consultancy and content services to assist with Keolis’ on-going brand awareness in the UK, as well as strategic communications support for the company’s franchise bids.
We secured the brief following a four-way pitch process and will be working alongside public affairs consultancy Cavendish Communications to deliver a combined campaign.
Marsid Greenidge, head of communications at Keolis UK, said: “Both Cavendish and Citypress bring significant experience of delivering integrated PR and PA campaigns and a proven track-record for supporting large-scale bid programmes, and these were key to us in the selection process.”
Ricky Ambury, senior account director at Citypress, said: Keolis is a truly global player in the delivery of large scale public transport franchises with more than a decade of experience delivering highly efficient and quality services in the UK. Our work will support the business at a pivotal time in UK transport as a number of major franchise agreements for both intercity and urban routes are being contested, while Keolis will also look to build on its experience as the joint operator of the country’s only existing high speed rail link ahead of HS2’s development.”
Gareth Morgan, director at Cavendish Communications, said: “The politics around rail franchising have never been more keenly debated following the West Coast Mainline issues, and the next two years will see significant levels of scrutiny continue as the franchise bidding process takes off again and as we build towards a probable 2015 General Election. We are delighted to be working with Keolis to help build the right coalitions of decision-makers and influencers that can underpin the expansion of the UK business.”
