Graham & Brown — a Great British business

As one of Britain’s best-known wall decoration brands, Graham & Brown itself underwent a makeover at a corporate and strategic level. We worked closely with the business to ensure its new vision and position as a leading player in local and global markets were communicated to key stakeholders and partners.

The challenge

Graham & Brown is a business with true manufacturing and design heritage. The family-owned firm has been making wallpaper since the 1940s and today works with some of the world’s leading designers and brands, including Kelly Hoppen, Barbara Hulanicki and the V&A.

With a new strategy in place, the company wanted to ensure its retail and distribution partners understood its strengths as a business and ambition to expand its global footprint.

The challenge was to build the company’s corporate reputation alongside its consumer brand, giving credence to its growing international presence backed by a ‘Made in Britain’ heritage.

The results

The campaign has achieved:

High-impact, earned media coverage with the UK’s most influential media brands, from editorials in the Financial Times, Daily Telegraph and Mail on Sunday to interviews on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, BBC Radio 5 Live, Sky News and BBC Breakfast.

Securing awards which celebrated the business’ achievements and commitments in the core areas of design, export and brand.

The work

Defined a clear and compelling corporate narrative in collaboration with the board, which evidenced Graham & Brown’s strengths as a business, brand and team.

Developed a programme of engineered news and comment opportunities with earned media, providing an editorial platform for this narrative â €” from trading updates and new markets to broader economic discussion on the role of exporting, heritage and design in business.

Targeted further third party endorsement through participation in award programmes and league tables.
